Taking care of newly applied lashes can come as a shock to most, especially if done during the summer months. But with the proper techniques and tips, that beautiful set of Black Diamond Eyelashes will prove its longevity.

All eyelashes (upper and lower) should be handled with the utmost care. Remove your eye make-up prior to your appointment with an oil-free cleanser. Also, make sure your eyes are mascara free and thoroughly cleansed (please do not apply any makeup before your appointment). Also, do not curl your lashes for 48 hours, as your lashes are in as natural a state as possible.

The aftercare process is the most important (but the pre-extension care is just as equal). We know it’s the summer (and even during the other seasons), but we urge you avoid extreme heat, steam rooms and swimming for at least 48 hours. This is to allow the adhesive really grasp onto the lash (heat will cause the adhesive to expand and loosen). Do not wear any mascara and remove all eye makeup with oil-free cleansers. Also, many of us like to pick at our lashes – DON’T DO IT! I know it’s hard, but go to a professional or your technician to have them properly removed.  Also, after you shower, pat the lashes dry with a tissue and use an eyelash comb to separate your lashes. This can become tedious, but it will allow your lashes to last longer.

If all else fails, visit your eyelash technician and they will be able to assist you with your lashes. It’s not every day we get to pamper or treat ourselves to an hour of relaxation, so get the most out of it. Think the best, think clear, and think JJ!
